What is PanelDNS?

PanelDNS is a white-label DNS management SaaS. Hosting companies (resellers) subscribe, get a branded portal, and offer full DNS management to their customers (sub-clients) across 22 DNS providers — without touching any infrastructure themselves.

Three API tiers

Platform API

Used by the platform owner’s billing system (WHMCS, Blesta, HostBill). When a reseller purchases a PanelDNS subscription, the owner’s WHMCS calls this API to create the reseller’s org, assign a plan, and provision their account. Also used for platform-level admin tasks: suspending orgs, changing plans, generating SSO links into the reseller dashboard.
The Platform API reference is not published here — it is operator documentation, and the audience for this site is resellers and sub-clients. Platform operators find the reference inside their own installation at /platform/docs, which requires a login.

Reseller API

Used by each reseller’s own billing system or control panel scripts. Once a reseller has their org, they connect their own WHMCS (via the PanelDNS WHMCS module) to this API to provision DNS packages for their customers — creating zones, managing records, creating sub-client accounts, and generating portal SSO links. → Reseller API overview

Sub-client Portal

The portal at /portal/{orgSlug} is a browser-based interface — it does not expose a public REST API. Resellers can generate a signed SSO token to drop a sub-client directly into their portal session without a password prompt. → Sub-client Portal overview
